It's all about the Music, whatever you do it's the Oystergrass that will
keep you dancing barefoot in the cool grass of Kemmerer, Wyoming. This
years Lineup includes, Robin Kessinger, Robert Shafer, The Lowest Pair,
Scratchdog Stringband, The National Parks, Guthrie Brown & The
Family Tree, Will Evans Band, The Brothers Comatose, I Draw Slow,
Jeremiah Tall, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Victor Barnes Insurgent
Bluegrass and only The Lord knows how many Band Scramble and impromptu
Pickers will attend.
An intimate festival with a small venue makes it a great place to claim
your space with blanket or lawn chair, grab a handful of great food, a
cold micro brew and sit back and enjoy the many regional and national
Pickers and Players. Don't miss some of the local History, you can dig
back 52 Million Years and take home a piece of history from our Eocene
Epoch fossil beds or visit local museums and landmarks to find out about
our rich if not infamous heritage in the wild west days of Mining,
Ranching, Moonshine and more. Did you know the Original J.C. Penney
Store is right here behind the ORMF Bandstand?
Driving in from afar? There are plenty of local hotels, and lots of
righteous camping spots if you don't mind the sometimes unpredictable
High Country weather we have. Here at 7000 feet above sea level the
nights get chilly, we have watched 4th of July fireworks complete with
snowfall so like the ole Boy Scout Moto says, "Be Prepared". Warm
clothes, good boots, a poncho and a water bottle are always a good idea
in Wyoming, what you fill that water bottle with is up to you ;).
RV's, tents, a couple of blankets, no problem, just be safe and sane and
don't drive on the grass. Epic views of the Wonderful Wyoming Wilderness
can be had with camping spots "up country" if you don't mind driving
30-40 minutes and the fishing here is outrageous, Catch Em', Clean Em',
Cook Em', Eat Em' and "Catch and Release" waters are here so grab your
license and the rules before you head "up country". Don't forget
to bring some back down for the rest of us.
Visit with famous and infamous pickers jamming in small groups or test
your own talent and group-up for the infamous "Band Scramble".
